Whirlwind Weekend
Maggie had lots of family admirers come to visit this weekend. On Friday, Saul's brother, Scott, our sister-in-law, Jessica, and our niece, Kaytlyn, got to meet Mags for the first time. Artie was in his glory to have Kaytlyn chase him around. On Saturday, Grandma C and Grandpa D (Saul's parents) came to see the little bundle, who happily pooped while grandma was holding her. Sunday was Grandma Susie, Grandpa Eldie, Aunt Stacy, Lucy, and Sophie's turn. Lucy liked to play kiss the "baybay". Sophie tried to play peek-a-boo with Maggie and drew her a picture that she left in her crib.
Last night was our roughest night to date. Miss Margaret cried and fussed from 1-4am. Ah, it's not easy being 10 days old. At least she's extra sleepy today. The remains of her umbilical cord fell out this morning. Ew! It looked like a raisin.

Maggie's future boyfriend
Last night Amy and Patrick came over with their son (who was born in January). Unfortunately, Maggie botched her chance to make a good first impression on Owen. She slept through the whole visit! Thanks, Masis, for the delightful dinner and company.
Yesterday Maggie had her first office visit to the pediatrician. She is in the 95th percentile for length, 70th percentile for weight, and 30th percentile for head circumference. She checked out fine!

Hello from Maggie!
Yes, meet my mini-Saul. Doesn't she look like him? She has a lot of hair, especially in the back, and it's dark brown with almost a red hue to it. Look at those paws! They're so big! No idea how she got those, or 22" of length for that matter. She does share some of my traits... well, the whole tardiness thing, and she sure likes to eat. She gets pissed a lot, too. The nurses were a little concerned at first because she didn't cry much and it wasn't very loud. Well, no worries now. She had a pretty good first night at home. I'm a little concerned about my fuzzy son, though. He's been lying under the coffee table moping.
Ready to go home

Sorry about the delay in updating; Sparrow was not too blog-friendly, as it turns out. Margaret Isabelle was born at 10:01 pm on Saturday the 19th. She was 8 lbs, 8 oz and 22 inches long. She doing great, and mom is fine too, albeit tired. We're home now, so updates should be more frequent. Thank you all for keeping us in your thoughts.

Real-Time Update!
So we're at the hospital, in epidural-land. The baby will be born today. Visiting hours are whenever; Sunday is probably the best since neither one of us slept last night. Which is something I guess we should get used to. Anyway, wish us luck!

Unsuspecting Big Brother
I guess we will have to wait a little longer before we get to meet the baby in person. The doctor's visit went well, but still nothing is happening even though Shannon is starting to have stronger contractions. My guess is the labor is just going to sneak up on us. We'll see...
In the meantime, we told Artie that he had better get prepared to share his den four ways in the very near future. As you can see, he was somewhat confused by this proposition. Some things you just can't explain to a dog. I'm sure he has similar frustrations when he tries to explain his hatred of rabbits to us and the neighbors at 1 in the morning.

Ready to pop!
I'm now 3 days past my due date and still no baby! Saul says she's definitely a Miller girl, already late. I was hoping for a true Mother's Day, but the kid had other plans. The IRS may not recognize me as a mother yet, but carrying this load is a demanding job. I'm ready to meet the little parasite. And be able to put on my own socks.
